Canarian cuisine includes lots of fresh fish as well as papas arrugadas, mojos and wine.

Papas arrugadas are small potatoes (in Spanish "wrinkled potatoes"), which have been boiled in very salty water and are usually served with chicken or fish and topped with mojo.

Mojo is a sauce which may be red (mojo rojo), or green (mojo verde) depending on its ingredients. It is usually made of oil, vinegar, salt, red peppers, thyme, oregano, coriander and several other spices. Mojo is normally heavy in garlic and spicy.

Gofio is also a very typical product. It is a flour made by grinding roasted sweet corn. It is produced locally and is added to many foods and also to warm milk.

There is also a large variety of local wines.

If you would like to try the local Canarian cuisine, please do not hesitate to ask Reception for the names of popular, local restaurants.
